Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 2026
1. Who we are
These terms apply to lessons purchased from Eleonora Cabras โ Speedy Italiano ("the Teacher", "we"), based in Sydney, NSW, Australia, ABN 89259445309. We are not registered for GST, so no GST is charged on our lessons. Contact: info@speedyitaliano.com.
2. Services
We provide personalised Italian language lessons delivered online (video call). Lessons are offered as individual sessions, themed programs, or the 8-week Aperitivo group conversation course.
3. Prices and payment
- All prices displayed on this website are in Australian dollars (AUD) โ the price you see is the total single price you pay.
- We are not registered for GST, so no GST is added or charged. An invoice is issued for every purchase.
- Payments are processed securely by our payment provider. We never store your card details.
- Bank or card currency-conversion fees, if you pay from outside Australia, are your responsibility.
4. Lesson programs
- Programs consist of 3 to 10 lessons depending on the chosen path, and are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase.
- Lessons not used within the 6-month validity period expire, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
- Programs are sold at a discount and are not refundable simply because you change your mind โ this does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (see clause 8).
4a. Single lessons and 28-day subscriptions
- Single lessons can be purchased individually, with no ongoing commitment.
- Subscriptions include 4 lessons per 28-day cycle and renew automatically every 28 days until cancelled.
- Subscribers receive a 5% discount compared with the single-lesson price.
- Lessons not used within a 28-day cycle expire at the end of that cycle and do not carry over, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
- You may cancel at any time before the next renewal date; the current cycle remains available until it ends.
5. Free trial lesson
A free 30-minute trial lesson is available to new students. A 10% discount on 60-minute programs applies when a program is purchased following the trial.
6. Scheduling, rescheduling & cancellation
- Lesson times are scheduled in Sydney time (AEST/AEDT). Times shown on this site can also be displayed in your local time zone.
- Lessons can be rescheduled with at least 12 hours' notice.
- Failure to attend without notice (a "no-show") results in the lesson being counted as delivered.
- If the Teacher cancels or cannot deliver a lesson, it is rescheduled at no cost or, at your election, refunded.
7. Technical issues
If technical problems on our side prevent a lesson from going ahead, the lesson is rescheduled as soon as possible at no cost to you.
8. Australian Consumer Law
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)). Among other things, services must be supplied with due care and skill, be fit for the purpose you told us about, and be supplied within a reasonable time.
If a service fails to meet a consumer guarantee you are entitled to a remedy: for a major failure you may cancel the service and obtain a refund for the unused portion, or seek compensation for a reduction in value; for a minor failure we may choose to fix the problem, for example by re-delivering the lesson. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies those rights.
9. Refunds outside the consumer guarantees
We are not required to provide a refund if you change your mind, choose the wrong program, or stop attending. Where you have an exceptional circumstance, contact us โ we consider requests case by case and may issue a credit for unused lessons.
10. Lessons for minors
Where the student is under 18, the booking must be made by a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these terms and provides consent on the child's behalf.
11. Intellectual property
All lesson materials, including vocabulary lists, exercises and customised content, remain the intellectual property of the Teacher and are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use only.
12. Marketing communications
In line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), we only send newsletters and promotional emails to people who have consented, always identify ourselves as the sender, and include a working unsubscribe link in every message.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that State.
14. Contact & complaints
Questions or complaints? Write to info@speedyitaliano.com and we will respond within 5 business days. You may also contact the ACCC or your state fair-trading office (in NSW, NSW Fair Trading) about consumer matters.
