This page explains how Speedy Italiano collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information on speedyitaliano.com. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Where visitors are located in the EU/UK, we also apply the GDPR standards described below. This page is informational and is not a legal or regulatory certification.

Information We Collect
- Contact form: name, email, message and (optional) selected program.
- Newsletter: email address submitted with explicit consent.
- Booking data: information you share through Calendly when scheduling a free trial.
- Level test: answers submitted in the interactive quiz (not linked to your identity unless you contact us with the result).
- Technical data: language preference, cookie consent and minimal browsing data needed for the site to function.
Why We Can Collect It
Under the Australian Privacy Principles we only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide and manage Italian lessons, respond to your enquiries, issue invoices and send communications you have asked for. Providing your information is voluntary, but without it we may not be able to arrange lessons. We do not collect sensitive information and we do not sell personal information.

- Send transactional emails strictly related to your request (e.g. confirmation of a message).
- Improve the website experience.
Service Providers (Processors)
The following providers may process data on our behalf:
- Lovable Cloud (Supabase) โ hosting of the site, database (contact messages, newsletter), authentication and email queue. Data stored in the EU.
- Calendly โ scheduling of free trial lessons.
- Payment provider โ secure processing of payments in AUD and issuing of invoices. Card details are handled by the provider, never stored by us.
- Google (Drive, Classroom, Meet) โ sharing of study materials and online lessons.
- Google AI (Gemini) โ on-demand translation of website content into the language you select.
Some providers are based outside the EU; in that case transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
Overseas Disclosure (APP 8)
Some of our providers store or process data outside Australia (including in the European Union and the United States). Before disclosing personal information overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, and where the GDPR applies we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
Security & Data Breaches
We use encrypted connections, access controls and reputable providers to protect your information. If an eligible data breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Marketing (Spam Act 2003)
We only send newsletters and offers to people who have opted in, identify ourselves in every message and include a working unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time.
Data Retention
- Contact messages: up to 24 months from last interaction.
- Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe.
- Cookie consent: 12 months, then re-requested.
- Email logs (delivery / suppression): up to 12 months for deliverability and abuse prevention.
Access, Correction and Complaints (Australia)
You can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Write to info@speedyitaliano.com โ we respond within 30 days and do not charge for access requests. If you are unhappy with how we handled your information or your complaint, you can escalate it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
Additional Rights (EU/UK visitors)
Under the GDPR you can access, rectify, erase, restrict or port your personal data, withdraw consent at any time and object to processing. Write to info@speedyitaliano.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in Italy: Garante per la protezione dei dati personali โ garanteprivacy.it).
Children
Lessons for minors are booked by a parent or legal guardian, who provides the contact data and consent on the child's behalf.

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our services or in the law. The "Last updated" date above always shows the current version.
